What We Do

Alzheimer's Association - in 2011 the Iowa City/Coralville Jaycees are a bronze sponsor and will be raising additional money through fundraisers to support this cause.  A Walk to End Alzheimers will take place on October 1, 2011.

End of the Year/Awards Banquet - a banquet and dinner held at the end of the year to recognize current Jaycees members.

Field of Screams - a haunted corn maze held during the last three weekends of October.

Game Day - anything from tailgating to bus trips to Major League events in which the Jaycees get together to go to a sporting event.  A great opportunity to get to know one another and meet others.

M.A.W. (Monday After Work) - a monthly social happy hour, where Jaycees members get together on Monday after 5 pm to enjoy food, drink, and each other's company.

March of Dimes - a team sponsorship was formed to raise awareness for this organization.

Membership Night - an event that occurs throughout the year to recognize members and to recruit new. Contact our Membership VP for more information.

Relay for Life - an event held annually by the American Cancer society. The Jaycees volunteer to run concessions during Relay for Life.  In 2011 we were able to raise over $1000 in contributions! Join our team!

Ronald McDonald's House Run/Walk - a service opportunity for Jaycees members to volunteer during the Ronald McDonald House Run/Walk.

Sports - a seasonal sports team, sponsored by the Jaycees, made up of members and non-members ( I.e. Volleyball or Softball).

UHIC (University Hospital Iowa City) Childrens' Holiday Party - a service oppportunity for Jaycees members held at the UHIC children's hospital. This event is between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and involves activities and prizes for children staying at the hospital during the holidays.
