2010 Board Members

President: Jess Mimick

Jess was born and raised in Marshalltown, IA. In High School, she rocked her home town with a group of peers by making music, a la Stomp and Blue Man Group. She came to the Jaycees as an intern during the fall of 2007, while she was a junior at the University of Iowa. Due to schedule conflicts (aka class), she took a temporary hiatus from the organization until graduation. She graduated the University of Iowa with two degrees and went on the job hunt.  She decided to get back involved with the Jaycees after landing her first post-college job in Iowa City in 2009. She currently works at Humanities Iowa. She re-joined to meet new people as "all my university friends, rudely, got jobs in different states." Jess's favorite event is the Field of Screams, because "it is so fun to see adults scream like little kids." She also loves to play on the Jaycees Volleyball team, but cannot throw a ball to save her life.

Management VP: N/A

Community Development VP: Maria Meller

Maria was born in Washington, IA. She graduated from Coe College in 2003. She currently works at Bank of the West as a Customer Service Manager. Maria said she joined the Jaycees to "meet new people." She also met her husband through the Jaycees. She enjoys the social events such as Bar Crawls and sporting events.

Membership VP: Ryan Delaney

Ryan was born and raised in Fort Madison, IA, home of the Tri-State rodeo and State Penitentiary. He is a graduate from the University of Iowa and is currently employed at Bank of the West. He originally joined the Jaycees under pressure from the past president, Kevin. He is most heavily involved in the Jaycees pickup basketball games. He is a poor shooter who struggles to create his own shot, but he hustles until tired. Once tired, he distributes the ball around the arch and sets moving screens. Ryan’s favorite event is the Field of Screams because “what isn’t there to love about chasing people through a field with chainsaws?” Ryan also is a diehard Cubs fan and can throw a football a quarter-mile.

Individual Development: Levi Good

Levi was "born in a small town" where he grew up on a farm. He attended the University of Iowa in the engineering and business schools before leaving, unsure of his fit. He currently work for Verizon Wireless as a sales representative where he plans to move into business sales or data sales management. He joined the Jaycees out of pure determination by the previous president, Kevin, 5 years ago. Kevin would ask if Levi wanted to hang out, but would end up helping set up or volunteering at a Jaycees event. He "officially" joined 3 years ago during a bar crawl/bus trip to Wrigley field and have since made several new friends and enjoyed many activities while helping the community. Levi's favorite event is the Field of Screams held just southwest of Iowa City on Hwy 1. He has never realized how much he enjoys "freaking people out!" He hopes to bring a little more liveliness to the chapter and remind everyone the excitement and fun that can be had while helping out several causes.
